Welcome to Shooting The Void.
This site is the second incarnation of Shooting The Void (re-born November 2010). I created my first site initially to showcase a selection if my images and sell a few prints and that motive still exists. I love creating them and I like other people to enjoy them too.
However, the more I learnt about the possibilities I could take advantage of with my cyber-face in this magical evolving virtual world, the more things I found that I wanted to do. I started to feel frustrated that I couldn’t do these things with my old site, the existing fora or the photo sharing sites. So as with all things technical; it became time move on and here we are!
Apart from show casing my work I also plan to add in occasional FAQs on methods, processes, kit, long-standing myths and photographic theories or lessons learnt from mistakes. My outlook on photography is that I love being in the moment to capture the images but there is always more to learn, other genres to explore, different view-points to consider and challenges to get excited about and if I can help others learn as well as learning from others then I will be happy to give back some of the great tips I have picked up along the way.
I also find as I am sure many people do that they frequently end up answering the same questions on web fora as different people of all shapes, ages and experiences go through the various phases of photographic learning. By adding some FAQs on here I am hoping that I will now be able to be a bit lazy and only write it once ![]()
Other than a FAQs I hope to add the occasional rambling blog with various philosophical ramblings on life, music and anything else that might come to mind but probably related to light, shade, sunsets or general image making thoughts.
